THE INSPIRATION
This October, the house of Bond No. 9 celebrates its 20th anniversary – with a new autumn fragrance called “New York Forever”!
As the name suggests, the fragrance is meant to last forever, just like the city of New York itself. “New York Forever” is a powerful fragrance for a powerful city,” says Bond No. 9 founder Laurice Rahmé.
Our own heritage shapes “New York Forever.” Bond No. 9 opened at 9 Bond Street—between Broadway and Galeries Lafayette—in 2003, when French art student and antiques dealer Laurice Rahmé launched her vision of creating sumptuous fragrances inspired by the beauty of New York.
“When we opened, our downtown street was a completely different story than it is today,” Rahmé remarks. “For example, our shop was across the street from a gas station. Now the property is a chic condominium building where supermodels live. I think that says it all.” Today, Bond No. 9 is NYC’s most iconic fragrance.
The company has standalone boutiques throughout the city and in Miami and is a global bestseller - a recognized luxury brand sold in doors all over the world.
With 89 fragrances as well as lipsticks, accessories and candles, “New York Forever” is the culmination of the brand’s eternal homage to NYC, which has now been on the market for two decades.
Even though the streets have evolved, Rahmé points to the city's dynamic, creative energy, which allows its residents and visitors alike the freedom to express themselves in their own personal way. For Rahmé, it's also a story of female empowerment, as she quips with a wink: "The city loves you, even if you're just a woman."
Like its namesake, "New York Forever" is strong, sexy, and makes a bold statement with its lasting fragrance. It is the ultimate tribute and anniversary gift to a city that embodies both, never standing still, but constantly evolving and eternally resisting with its big, beating heart.
THE PACKAGING
Fittingly for an anniversary fragrance, New York Forever's motto is: "Go big or go home".
The famous Bond No. 9 bottle silhouette has never looked so breathtaking and majestic as in this gold paired with a red heart design reminiscent of Milton Glaser's original homage to NYC.
