From a raw block, the artist already sees the finished work – and Godimenta is sculpted like a sculpture. Ginger and bergamot are cut with clean lines, emanating a strong, vibrant energy. Around them, lemon and mint form smooth, flowing curves that feel cool and fresh. Raspberry and jasmine lie like small carvings in the resin veins of the fir. The metallic rose has a solid, shiny form – almost sharp to the eye. Amber spreads into a soft, rounded base, smoothing every rough edge. Finally, the woods – sandalwood, cedar, and guaiac wood – along with musk give the sculpture a warm glow and a smooth, sensual finish that invites touch and enjoyment.
