Diptyque - 34 Boulevard Saint Germain - Eau de Parfum
In 2018 we begin a new chapter.
The Eau de Parfum 34 Boulevard Saint Germain is an ode to the modernity of the diptyque boutique at 34 Boulevard Saint Germain. Despite its venerable age, it continually reinvents itself. The Eau de Parfum is a multifaceted and exquisitely refined creation, from the fragrance itself to the bottle's design. The inviting ambiance and unique atmosphere are reflected in this scent. The light wood of the counters, the antique furniture, and the boutique's hidden treasures are bathed in a soft, golden light each day. Modern, fresh, and eclectic, the boutique reminds us of diptyque's constant evolution. New encounters continually forge new connections. The graphic lines, the elegant smoky effect on the glass, and the black and white Basile pattern of the outer packaging all allude to the symbols and history of the House. A poetic invitation into the world of diptyque lovers.
Exceptional raw materials of the purest quality. An enveloping, luxurious, and contrasting creation that reveals its spicy side at the end. Sandalum album from Australia lends a woody-creamy note. Bourbon vanilla, tonka bean, and pink peppercorn create an enveloping contrast.
What is new, what is the same?
This composition, once again developed by Olivier Pescheux, naturally stems from the same inspiration, the same source, but at a different time than the previous ones. It proves to be more concise and profound, somehow more golden, radiant, sensual. An authentic skin fragrance.
The Eau de Parfum emerges from a woody accord reminiscent of light-drenched consoles, display cases, shelves, and counters, and rests upon a special Australian sandalwood of Indian origin, which lends it an intense velvety quality, an almost lascivious aura, and a distinctly oriental flair. Bourbon vanilla, already present in the Eau de Toilette, further enhances this warmth until tonka bean with its high coumarin content enters the picture. With a hint of almond, subtly spicy thanks to a touch of cinnamon and clove, it is powerfully alluring. The zest and freshness? These come from a pinch of Pepperwood pepper and a generous handful of pink peppercorns, half fruit, half flower—happy "accidents" that suddenly appear.
Brought together in a smoked glass flacon with a heavy base, crowned with black Bakelite and carefully nestled in a box with a black and white Basile pattern: a particularly geometric design by Christiane from 1963. And around the emblem with the number 34: can you guess what it says? DIPTYQUE, 34 BOULEVARD SAINT GERMAIN, PARIS 5°.
