Diptyque - Eau Rose - Hand and Body Lotion
This lotion is multifaceted. With its delicate, milky texture, it settles on the skin like a whisper, like a gentle murmur. But beneath this veil, vibrant fragrance nuances unfold, playing with the senses. Rose presents itself with seductive accents, almost lemony in character. It brings not only the scent of its blossoms, but also that of its leaves, a hint of green, a splash of freshness.
In antiquity, fragrant oils were used not only to perfume the skin but also the hair. The oils helped to preserve the full intensity of the scents and to blend with the incense notes used to treat the fabrics. Later, in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, scented balls, pomanders, and other fragrance diffusers became fashionable, along with finely crafted perfume dispensers. In addition, there was a wealth of ointments and elixirs… Over time, established rituals and exquisite objects developed around all these fragrance-spreading substances.
From its very beginnings, diptyque has drawn inspiration from this perfume history and is now inventing a new ceremony, a new art form of perfumery:
The perfume gestures
Gestures that make the invisible tangible, the intangible graspable. In its exploration of the language of perfume, the house once again takes innovative, sensual paths, expanding its palette with "Perfume Gestures," a combination of varying intensities and surprising textures. L'Ombre dans l'Eau, Do Son, Philosykos, and Eau Rose are presented as balm, gel, oil, and foam, thus developing a fragrance intensity comparable to that of an eau de toilette, lasting for many hours.
The creation of these sensory fragrances is exceptionally complex. No two are alike, as each has its own unique texture, allowing it to unfold individually. The selection of ingredients and their precise dosage draws on all of diptyque's expertise to achieve perfect balance. Substance becomes fragrance, fragrance becomes substance. A unique experience for all the senses, as simple in everyday use as it is sophisticated as a fragrance ritual, its sensuality lingering throughout the day.
Each perfume gesture showcases a new design, characterized by clean lines, matte and transparent surfaces, and striking black and white contrasts. Inside the bottles, delicate, feather-like spirals create reflections and depth. With these perfume gestures, diptyque has created an innovative product range for a new way of experiencing perfume. The house thus adds a new chapter to its history of exquisite fragrance objects—small works of art to be admired, to be kept close to home, and to be given as gifts.
