In antiquity, scented oils were used not only to perfume the skin, but also the hair. The oils helped to preserve the intensity of the fragrance notes and combined with the smoky nuances used to treat fabrics. Later, in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, scent balls, musk apples, and pomanders came into fashion, along with finely chiseled fragrance dispensers. In addition, there was an abundance of salves and elixirs... Over time, fixed rituals and noble objects developed around all these scent-spreading substances.

In its exploration of the language of perfume, the house once again takes innovative sensory paths and expands its own palette with the "Perfume Gestures," a combination of different intensities and surprising textures. L’Ombre dans l’Eau, Do Son, Philosykos, and Eau Rose are presented as balms and gels, thus developing a fragrance strength equal to that of an Eau de Toilette and lasting for many hours.
The creation of these sensory fragrances is extremely complex. No two are alike, because each has its own texture to unfold individually. Diptyque's entire savoir-faire is used in the selection of ingredients and their dosage to achieve perfect balance. Substance becomes fragrance, fragrance becomes substance. A unique experience for all senses, as simple in daily use as it is refined as a fragrance ritual, whose sensuality remains palpable throughout the day.
Each Perfume Gesture showcases a new design that captivates with clear lines, matte and transparent surfaces, and black and white contrasts. Inside the bottles, fine spirals, drawn as if with a feather, create reflections and depth. With the Perfume Gestures, DIPTYQUE creates an innovative product range for a new way of perfuming.
