The Herbarium of Fruits
The freshness of leaves meets the slightly tart praline notes of hazelnuts just before ripening. A moment to savor.
"Your Diptyque candle is an exceptional handcrafted creation and deserves the utmost care. Here are some tips to optimize its lifespan and ensure safe use.
Preparing the space
- Place your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
- Protect delicate materials such as wood or marble with a base or tray.
- Keep candles away from flammable materials.
- Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
Lighting the candle
- We recommend lighting your candle with a match to avoid burns.
- When lighting for the first time, make sure to let the candle burn until an even layer of liquid wax has formed (approx. 4 hours, depending on the fragrance). This prevents tunneling of the wax and allows the wick to absorb the wax properly, ensuring an even burn. Wicks may produce a small amount of smoke when first lit.
While burning
- After the first lighting, do not let the candle burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Do not move a burning or still hot, unlit candle.
- Keep it away from drafts.
- Leave at least 10 cm (4 inches) between two candles.
After each use
- Extinguish the flame: Use a candle snuffer to avoid splattering hot wax.
- Re-center the wick as soon as the candle has extinguished.
- Before relighting your candle, trim the wick with a wick trimmer (ideal length: 3 to 5 mm) to avoid fire hazards.
Final note
- Stop using your candle when only 5 mm of wax remains or the metal wick base becomes visible.
Care & Storage
- We recommend ventilating the room after burning a candle.
- Allow the wax to cool completely before moving your candle.
- Store it in a dry, temperate place (15 °C–25 °C / 59 °F–77 °F), away from direct sunlight, to avoid discoloration, pigment changes, or wax detachment."
