Without hesitation, we entrusted him with the task of bringing ‘our vision’ of oud to life. Thus, ExpLOud was born, an aromatic explosion based on the most precious and luminous oud, with floral notes that refine the characteristic scent of this unique raw material and give it a completely new direction, as it has already been interpreted in numerous ways on the market.” – Roberto Drago
“Oud is the quintessential woody note. It’s unique thanks to its fragrance profile and the socio-cultural interest associated with it. I wanted to work with oud like a multifaceted diamond, the most precious raw material imaginable. I was fortunate enough to work with an amazing quality of oud from Ajmal, India. It possesses the perfect balance of all oud facets: smoky, leathery, slightly animalic, vibrant, addictive, and powerful. What makes this fragrance so unique is the fresh, floral magnolia and lilybelle accord in the heart, which takes the scent into a brighter, more enthusiastic, and joyful realm. Lilybelle, in particular, gives the fragrance an almost aquatic character, allowing the perfume to breathe. I then used an overdose of ambrocenide and ambrostar, which provide a unique sharpness and give it radiance and vibrancy. These molecules ensure that this fragrance lasts practically forever. Then I added a A combination of three exceptional woody raw materials was chosen: patchouli to convey the darkness of oud, sandalwood to create an addictive, soft, and milky effect, and finally, our precious vetiver from Madagascar, which leaves an earthy, rooty, and slightly smoky impression.
