When the scent of benzoin sweeps me away, when the ocean surf turns my heart to patchouli, I return to Tamarindo, where paintings unfold in the jungle. Among giant spiders and contented lizards, inspiration is like a sensual fragrance.

Memo Paris – The Story of a Passion
Aliénor Massenet, the perfumer for the Parisian label Memo, has had a great passion for fragrances since childhood. This passion was sparked by her Hungarian grandfather, a chemist who experimented with all sorts of organic essences in the family cellar. Even on her way to school on the metro, Aliénor made it her mission to identify the perfumes of those around her.

Her passion for fragrances endured and proved decisive for her career. While Massenet didn't complete formal perfumery training at ISIPCA, as is common for most perfumers today, she studied art history and psychology, partly to please her parents. However, from the very beginning, she worked for the industry's leading companies: Firmenich, L'Oréal, Florasinth, and IFF, to name just a few. There, she learned the art of perfumery from the ground up, firsthand, as an assistant to such renowned names as Bertrand Duchaufour, Carlos Benaïm, Pierre Wargnye, and Sophia Grojsman, among others, with whom she collaborated for many years.

Now, Aliénor Massenet herself is one of the great perfumers and, together with Clara Malloy, fulfilled a lifelong dream: Memo, her own label, whose inspirations stem from travel, dreams, and, quite simply, an exuberant zest for life. All the fragrances she presents are named after and dedicated to a specific place on earth – “a memorable olfactory journey,” to which we warmly invite you.
