Frankincense has a long and multifaceted history in Oman. It is primarily used as a distinctive perfume ingredient. This exceptional resin is also known for its ability to stimulate and purify body, mind, and spirit. In April, during the harvest season, the aroma of fresh frankincense fills the entire region of Salalah in the Dhofar Mountains. Salalah is known as the "Fragrance Capital of Arabia" because of its frankincense. It is a place where generations of frankincense gatherers have passed down the tradition to younger generations.
