Parfums de Marly - Carlisle
Created by the young perfumer Quentin Bisch, this sensual fragrance revolves primarily around sandalwood: warm, soothing, and rich with a touch of vanilla. After a fruity-spicy opening with green apple and nutmeg, the heart of the fragrance is filled with the intensely floral notes of osmanthus, davana, and rose. Aromas of vanilla, dark patchouli, and opoponax form a wonderfully balsamic and soft base. The blend, with its delicious interplay of nutmeg, saffron, and tonka bean, exudes an aura of oriental mystery. Perhaps it's the unexpected combination of tart green apple and delicate vanilla that ultimately reveals this rich, complex creation as exuberantly joyful on the skin.
A tribute to the 18th century
Julien Sprecher, connoisseur and creator of Parfums de Marly, combines his passion for horses with French history through this collection of rare and authentic perfumes.
“In the 18th century, horses and perfumes were the pride of the nation,” recalls Julien Sprecher. Among European monarchies, the court of Louis XV was widely regarded as “the perfumed court.” At Versailles, fragrances reigned supreme, while Europe’s finest stallions were bred in the stud farms of France. In 1739, Louis XV commissioned the sculptor Guillaume Coustou to create equestrian statues, “The Horses of Marly,” to adorn the Perfume Fountain, a major attraction of the court.
Fragrant odes to an era when splendor was considered the epitome of beauty. Parfums de Marly's creations pay homage to the two passions that dominated King Louis XV's life: thoroughbreds and pure perfumes. The Parfums de Marly collection creates a unique world of signature scents. Sedbury, Meliora, Herod, Pegasus, Darley, Athalia, and Nisean boldly plunge into captivating, profound harmonies born from an appreciation for exceptional raw materials.
In 2017, two new fragrance creations will enter the game.
