You can take the collagen drink every evening to provide your body with cod collagen for the collagen synthesis that takes place overnight. Cod skin is almost identical to human skin, which is why it is also used in medicine for skin regeneration after burns.
The peptides contained in the Collagen Drink reach the bloodstream via the stomach and small intestine. Transport to the deeper layers of the skin occurs via the blood vessels. Some of the peptides in the Collagen Drink are so small that they reach the bloodstream intact. The majority are broken down into amino acids and are then available to the body in the blood for the formation of new collagen.
The amino acid profile of cod collagen is particularly well-suited for the skin, as it consists predominantly of type 1 collagen (skin type). It has an exceptionally high content of glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline, the most important building blocks of skin collagen (forming the helix), and contains a particularly high amount of essential amino acids. Furthermore, unlike other collagen sources, cod collagen also contains cysteine and a particularly high amount of the precursor methionine, which are crucial for collagen fiber formation.
