Santa Maria Novella - L`Iris
"L'Iris" is the first Eau de Parfum created by the Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella after more than 800 years of activity. The fragrance is based on iris butter ("concreta d'iris"), extracted from the rhizomes of the flower: it is very precious and takes 6 years to mature.
The most elegant raw material among powdery ingredients is combined with bright top notes such as neroli, Timur pepper, and galbanum, transitioning into a floral heart of geranium, jasmine sambac, and magnolia champaca. In the base notes, the classic Florentine iris unveils Florence through a balanced olfactory discovery.
Developed by creative director Gian Luca Perris, L'Iris reinterprets the history of Florence, celebrating the numerous and diverse connections between Florence and the flower, which is still considered its symbol today. It also recalls the legend of the goddess Iris, messenger of Olympus, a flower already known in Egyptian, Greek, and Latin civilizations. The transparent glass bottle features a velvety label with the historic Maison logo and a gold and engraved Zamak alloy cap that reflects the bottle's shapes. Available in 50 ml and 100 ml spray versions.
