Trudon - Les Tuileries - Scented Candle

A Tribute to Marie Antoinette

To celebrate its 380th anniversary, Trudon delves into the opulent 18th-century French history and launches a new collection named Les Tuileries, residence of French kings and emperors and Marie Antoinette's last home until the French Revolution.

The new fragrance was inspired by the life and loves of the last Queen of France – an extraordinary tribute to Marie Antoinette.

Les Tuileries
The collection's color scheme originates from a rare document preserved in the French National Archives. A countess lady-in-waiting to Marie Antoinette collected numerous fabric samples over many years, which were used for the ruler's magnificent gowns. Delicate rose and pastel tones serve as the template and inspiration for Les Tuileries. The sweet rose scent of the new collection symbolizes Marie Antoinette's admiration and love for the queen of flowers.

This scented candle from Trudon is a quality product. To ensure you enjoy it for a long time, please observe the care instructions.

The History of Trudon
In 1643, a merchant named Trudon arrived in Paris. Through a fortunate marriage, he became the owner of a shop in the famous Rue Saint Honoré, in the Saint Roch district. In addition to groceries and colonial goods, he sold candles for household use and candles for mass. Over time, he refined and perfected his candle-making skills and soon exclusively created candles of the highest quality.

Shortly before the Sun King, Louis XIV, ascended the throne of France, the master founded a small manufactory that bore his name, thus laying the foundation for a long tradition. His son Jacques continued his father's craft with the same passion and pursuit of perfect quality, and in 1687, due to his outstanding skills, he was summoned to the court of Versailles and thereafter became the King's purveyor. In 1719, Maison Trudon was officially appointed the royal wax manufactory. The business with wax and candles flourished, and the operation continued without interruption over the centuries.

Maison Trudon is today the oldest French manufactory and has already created candles of the highest quality for major houses such as Hermès, Guerlain, and Dior, always mindful of the traditions of Cire Trudon.
