Venezia 1920 - Grey Velvet Extrait
An amber opening, then a gourmand heart of plum and fig, soft coconut, with a base of moss and sandalwood.
One evening I was walking through the streets. The sun was setting and a wet rain was blowing. In the darkness, I heard a voice. "Water is only the treasure chest," he said to me. I turned abruptly. "Who are you? What do you mean?" I asked him. No answer, just a giggle, somewhere in the shadows. Then a light touch on my shoulder. I turned around again: an open door invited me to enter. The warmth enveloped me like a hug. I threw the wet coat somewhere and walked into the long corridor. I felt the soft carpets under my feet, caressed the smooth walls of shiny stucco, the inlays of precious stones, I touched the large brocade sofa with a finger.
That night I dreamed of Grey Velvet. An amber opening, warm like the feeling of leaving the cold behind and being welcomed into one of those houses. A round gourmand heart of plum and fig, soft coconut, sensual like the satin, velvet and brocade that adorn the rooms. A background of moss and sandalwood draws you from within into the warmest and most fragrant rooms, magnificent like a large room heated by a fireplace, full of cushions, velvet and gold, a warm embrace in which you can let yourself fall, intoxicated by beauty.
