Viennese Blood - Ballroom Bohemian
In the early morning hours of December 12, 1877, the enthusiasm of the guests at the Vienna Court Opera soirée was unstoppable. The waltz-mad Viennese pushed chairs aside and conquered the dance floor – despite the imperial ban on dancing. A tribute to the waltz, the Opera Ball, and Viennese spirit.
Mangrove wood, also known as black oud, is a relatively new ingredient in Western perfumery. "Gaharu buaya," as it's called by the locals, is sustainably harvested in the swamps of Borneo, an island shared by Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei. Only dead tree trunks are used to obtain the precious wood, from which the thick, amber-colored fragrant oil is distilled. Its scent profile is leathery, slightly smoky, warm, and animalic.
