XerJoff - Casamorati 1888 - 1888
As its name suggests, the fragrance "1888" by Casamorati represents the entire collection of the Italian house. This grand task is mastered by a heavenly composition that transports the wearer to a bygone era full of elegance, classic grace, and perfect sophistication.
The masterfully composed fragrance creation consists of extremely noble and precious essences. In the top note, exotic spices of coriander, cloves, and green pepper shimmer with a hint of Iranian saffron. This spicy prelude harmonizes perfectly with the floral heart, where roses from Grasse, Moroccan neroli, and ylang-ylang from Indonesia combine. Precious Mysore sandalwood dominates the base and is finely and extravagantly flanked by patchouli, amber, and leathery notes of Russian birch.
"1888" is rounded off by its successful exterior appearance. The typically shaped bottle in distinguished rust red, with its pointed, golden cap, is adorned with a small relief. Depicted here is an exciting hybrid that is reminiscent of both the Roman wine god Bacchus and the Bocca della Verità, the latter immortalized by the classic "Roman Holiday" starring Gregory Peck and Audrey Hepburn.
The Casamorati 1888 collection, launched by the perfume house XerJoff, reflects the history of the magnificent eponymous fragrance house, which was founded in Italy between the 18th and 19th centuries.
The specialty of La Fabbrica di Profumi C. Casamorati included the production of exquisite fragrances, including Profumeria Fina alla Violetta Ideale, an elegant violet perfume. In addition, various refined bath soaps were also part of the assortment. Over the years, Casamorati received numerous awards from important national and international personalities. The most extraordinary and certainly most prestigious recognition was personally bestowed upon Signor Casamorati by Her Majesty Queen Margherita of Italy: During a visit to one of the national exhibitions, Her Highness was so impressed by the quality of the soaps that she presented the perfumer with a golden pin as a token of her gratitude and deep respect.
XerJoff, themselves known and loved for their high-quality and exclusive fragrances, have made it their goal to preserve the historical and artistic heritage of that glamorous Casamorati era. Thus, some of the historical original recipes were carefully revised and re-launched – so that the spirit of Casamorati may live forever!
