Mefisto Gentiluomo is the perfect men's cologne, created in 1888 for classic gentlemen's salons.

With their distinctive, polished wooden floors and heavy leather armchairs, the salons of that era offered gentlemen not only classic beard and hair care but also the opportunity to discuss political and social issues. Thus, a gentleman left the salon elegant, well-groomed, and ready for any occasion.

The Casamorati 1888 collection, launched by the perfume house XerJoff, reflects the history of the magnificent perfume house of the same name, which was founded in Italy between the 18th and 19th centuries.

La Fabbrica di Profumi C. Casamorati specialized in the production of exquisite fragrances, including Profumeria Fina alla Violetta Ideale, an elegant violet perfume. Their product range also included a variety of refined bath soaps. Over the years, Casamorati received numerous awards from prominent national and international figures. The most extraordinary and undoubtedly most prestigious recognition came from Her Majesty Queen Margrethe of Italy herself: During a visit to one of the national exhibitions, Her Highness was so impressed by the quality of the soaps that she presented the perfumer with a gold lapel pin as a token of her gratitude and deep respect.

Xerjoff, renowned and beloved for its high-quality and exclusive fragrances, has made it their mission to preserve the historical and artistic legacy of that glamorous Casamorati era. To this end, some of the original historical formulas have been carefully reworked and relaunched – so that the spirit of Casamorati may live on forever!
